Storage hall for low- and medium-level radioactive waste
The storage hall for low- and medium-level waste was built during a second construction phase. This building is 98m long, 33m wide and almost 20m high and has storage capacity of 17'618 m3. It consists of a reception and a storage area. Until 2018 the hall has only been used for conventional storage, such as empty drums and containers and replacement materials.
From 2018 until 2020 the storage hall has been modified. The final release for the interim storage of radioactive waste has been given by the authority ENSI on 29th May 2020. The first drums have been delivered for interim storage 1st of July 2020.
